Hi! I’m Sarah.
I am one of the owners of Leaf, Stone & Steel. I have an innate passion for plants, animals and all things nature. When I was young, I observed my mother tend to her houseplants and garden. I gained knowledge of plant species and care requirements. My favorite of hers was a massive staghorn fern. I believe the best way to decorate any space, is with plants! Having over 100 plants at home, I strive for the feel of a tropical oasis surrounding me. After 16+ years as an educator, my husband, Jason, proposed the idea of opening a plant shop along with our daughter, Carmen who is currently studying Horticulture herself. Tying in other natural elements and creators just made sense for us. Our shop is an extension of our multifaceted/ eclectic personalized style. Not only am I in my element doing what I love, I’m doing it with those I love.
Hi! I’m Carmen.
I am one of the owners of Leaf, Stone & Steel. I’m a major in Horticulture at SUNY Niagara, with a passion for anything nature & houseplants. I’ve had an interest in crystals and the metaphysical aspects of life since my grandparents took me to local crystal stores when I was young. I am proud to source crystals from all over the world to educate people on the beauty of the naturally occurring and their benefits. It was important to me to include my niche interests for like minded people to enjoy, such as having a year-round available horror section. I love watching customers buy gifts for their loved ones or treat themselves with the products my mom and I have carefully curated. We had a goal to create Leaf, Stone & Steel for everyone regardless of age, gender or interests; there’s truly something for everyone.
Jason, our co-founder, is known by many as a renaissance man! Anyone that knows him, knows he is always working on something and is a passionate creator in many mediums. Currently a nationally ranked and awarded associate broker in real estate for over 18 years, he also enjoys writing poetry, creating art (moss walls and frames, exotic wood epoxy tables, metal fabrication), mentoring (he is a retired teacher and former NYS Teacher of the Year) and building and designing spaces. He designed the mellifluous flow of our entire shop to engage people of all ages and diversities and will be the main person to brainstorm with to bring your dreams to life!
